Tribute to
President Ronald Wilson Reagan

Ronald and Nancy Reagan
Ronald and Nancy Reagan

Ronald Reagan was born February 6th, 1911 in Tampico, IL

He was a Democrat from 1932 - 1962
He switched to Republican in 1962.  He left the Democratic party because instead of individual rights he believed the party 's focus was collectivism.
"I didn't leave the Democratic party; my party left me". Ronald Reagan

He was Governor of California from January, 1967 until January, 1975

He was President of the United States from January 1981 until January 1989

He was married twice:  First to actress Jane Wyman from 1940 to 1948
He then married Nancy Davis in 1952 and stayed with
her until his death in 2004.

The speech that began it all........

There are so many great speeches that we could never show them all.

He demonstrated "COMPASSION" to a grieving nation......

He demonstrated strength when facing our enemy -
Communism......

He loved this country and First Lady Nancy Reagan....

And then he said goodbye in January 1989

and we said goodbye in June 2004

I was fortunate enough to have served in the United States Marine Corps during President Reagan's entire eight years in Office. He transformed a broken and demoralized fighting force into the greatest military organization in history.  It was his firm belief in Communism as a failed system that contributed to the decline of the Soviet Union and led to the freedom of millions of people in Eastern Europe.

He transformed a broken country into a country that believed in itself again.  He instilled a spirit of optimism into the people not seen since FDR and Lincoln. In 1980 he won 44 out of 50 states and in 1984 he won 49 out of 50 states in the Presidential election.  At his funeral in 2004,  I waited in line for 12 hours to view his casket.  Me and millions like me.

He will go down in history as one of the top three  greatest Presidents in American History.   Mr. President we have a saying in the Marine Corps - Your job here is done - Mission Accomplished.

Rest in Peace Ronald Wilson Reagan.........
