9. The George Bush (41) "Tank helmet" ad against Dukakis in 1988. Bush, Sr won.

7. John F. Kennedy's (JFK) "Eisenhower' ad against Richard Nixon 1960. Kennedy won.

TOP TEN REASONS WHY THERE SHOULD BE A STATE OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
10. The population of California is: 37,250,000 - the largest state in the country....... Too big to succeed.
9. The geography makes sense..........
8. The border between Southern California and Mexico would be secure. Politically a Conservative to moderate area, immigration laws would be tough (like Arizona )
2004 election, almost all Republican
7. Education system in California is in a shambles...... Again, too big to succeed. The 10 year graduation trend in 2007 had California's graduation rate dropping 4.7%. The largest decrease in the country.
6. It is over 500 miles between Sacramento, state capitol, and San Diego. Citizens from the southern part of the state can never go to the capitol and voice their opinions about upcoming votes.
Sacramento
5. Businesses are fleeing California's regulations and job killing legislation........ California ranks 49th in "business tax climate" and 48th for "economic freedom"
Companies left California in the first quarter of 2011 at the fastest rate ever.
The state of Southern California would be business friendly just because of ideology......
leaving California
4. The saying "As California goes, so goes the nation" would be dead. A majority of Californians, especially southern Californians, do not agree with laws passed in Sacramento.
There would be two Californias and the country would see a contrast between the laws written in the two states.
3. It actually makes more sense to make coastal California, from southern tip of Los Angeles County to the Northern tip of Humboldt county, become the state of Coastal California. Look at political map, most of California is Conservative to moderate except the coast. But that's another list.
State of Coastal California
2. Cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco currently represent California. Southern California has nothing in common with these cities, especially San Francisco.
San Francisco will vote on banning of circumcision. San Francisco is considering a ban on all sales of animals in pet stores. San Francisco is considering a law that makes it illegal to ask if you have a prison record. Los Angeles and San Francisco are both sanctuary cities.
San Francisco and Los Angeles
1. The number one reason that there should be a state of Southern California - we are sick and tired of having a very liberal agenda shoved down our throats. A majority of the population in the proposed state of Southern California, actually most Californians, do not agree with the following:
Start teaching gay/lesbian history at the kindergarten level(read more>>>>) Gay marriage in California(Read more>>>>>>>) majority of yes votes came from coastal areas. California Dream Act (illegals get college tuition (Read more>>>>>)
This is just to name a few. There is much more.
You've got West Virginia (Didn't agree with Virginia) You've got South Dakota You've got South Carolina
It is time for the state of Southern California.
Have your own reason, send them to afb1@cox.net. We'd love to add them.
1. Compartmentalize your troubles. Those that served in the military find this easier to do. Bottom line - when you go to sleep at night forget all the money problems. A good nights sleep will increase your ability to reason through your problems the next day. You're not doing yourself or your family any good being exhausted from worry.
2. Don't listen to news or talk radio 24/7. Take a break at least one day a week and enjoy your family, music and movies.
3. Lost your job? Start networking. Call old friends, go to your kid's sporting events or school plays, or attend church functions or reunions. Many of us don't want people to know that we lost our job, which is precisely the wrong way to go about it. Let people know so they can give you some ideas about where to go. Good starting point: http://www.enetsc.com/JobSearchTips14.htm
5. Get involved in issues that you feel very strongly about. Caution: not to the point of obsession. Participating in the political process will give you a sense of accomplishment.
6. Just graduated from college? Unemployment for 16 - 24 year old Americans is 52.2%. Don't worry about getting employment in your chosen field for now. Get a job!!!! During the Great Depression entire families spent the day picking fruit. If you must take two jobs to make ends meet, do it! Our current circumstances will not last forever.
7. If you aren't a college graduate try and take some community college courses in an area you like. Also, the trade school business is exploding. Find a trade you like and get to work at learning the trade.
8. Don't allow the government to use our hard times as an excuse to pass laws that a majority of us would not normally support. We can get through tough times without changing the basic foundation of our country.
"If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace."
Thomas Paine
9. If these hard times haven't really affected you find a way to help your neighbors. If your adult kids must move back in for a short period encourage them to do so. They probably won't bring it up themselves. If you have an elderly parent that needs help or know of one lend a hand. If you have a brother or sister struggling with this economy, help out. These are tough times. I'm reminded of the Amish "barn raising' philosophy. 'Barn Raising'>>>>>>>
10. This is a great time to start your own business. There are many successful businesses that were started when times were tough. If you're good at a specific field such as photography, landscaping, pet care, painting, carpet cleaning, carpentry, typing, auto repair or handyman take a look at pulling in some extra money on the side by starting your own business. Small Business Adminstration is a great place to start. Smaller business concepts try Accion USA.
11. (Sorry needed 11 this time). Probably the most important one: It isn't much but realize all of us are in this together AND we'll get through this together.
After all we are Americans, We've e been here before.
BiCzar "Quotes"
Top ten '10' bizarre quotes of Czars appointed by President Obama:
1. "I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, and then the verdicts came down on April 29th," he said. "By August, I was a communist." - Green Jobs Czar Van Jones, resigned in September 2009 (comments after Rodney King verdict in 1992.)
2. "it has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society." Science Czar John Holdren
3. "It should be clear by now that my focus here is not freedom of speech or the press. This freedom is all too often an exaggeration." Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Czar Mark Lloyd
4. FCC Czar Mark Lloyd praising Hugo Chavez. Video....
5. "I am now so used to being vilified and having our initiatives mischaracterized or maligned that I have recently found myself failing to listen seriously to my opponents ... That has never happened before to me, and I find it unacceptable in myself." Border Czar Alan Bersin
6. "A system of limitless individual choices, with respect to communications, is not necessarily in the interest of citizenship and self-government," - Regulatory Czar Cass Sunstein
7. "We ought to ban hunting, I suggest, if there isn't a purpose other than sport and fun. That should be against the law. It's time now... - Regulatory Czar Cass Sunstein
8. "It would even be possible to require pregnant single women to marry or have abortions, perhaps as an alternative to placement for adoption, depending on the society," Science Czar John Holdren
9. "Let me give you some advice. First, we are big believers in dentist chair bargaining. For those of you not familiar with this approach, it is inspired by the story of the man who walks into his dentist's office, grabs the dentist by the balls and says, 'now, let's not hurt each other.' We do have a lot to lose and we and everybody else knows it. But what you need to understand is that we are willing to lose it." Car Czar Ron Bloom
10. No quote but it is a little bizarre that the former CEO of Fannie Mae, Herb Allison, was picked by President Obama to be TARP Czar.
The ten questions???? That most common sense Americans don't feel the President answered last night.
1. If the plan you are proposing is so great why won't you or any member of Congress agree to be covered by the plan immediately upon signing?
2. You stated that illegal immigrants will not be covered by your plan. The reason very few Americans believe that statement is because the current bill lacks any enforcement mechanisms to ensure that those here illegally don't receive benefits under the plan. A Republican amendment ensuring that illegal immigrants aren't eligible for healthcare benefits was defeated. Will you ensure that specific measures are in place denying benefits to illegal immigrants?
3. How can you state that adding 40 million new patients to the current healthcare system won't increase the deficit and our taxes? Besides, we don't have enough doctors or nurses to handle the current load.
4. You called those Americans concerned about the treatment of the elderly 'liars'. "The government will not be in the business of conducting panels to encourage elderly people to make decisions about quality of life.? Why is this policy already being utilized by your Veterans Administration with a pamphlet titled 'Your Life - Your Choice'? Asking disabled Vets to question their quality of life. One contributing writer is an advocate of assisted suicide. Why should anybody believe you when the exact policy you scoff at is being carried out in your government?
5. How many months or years will you be in office before you'll stop blaming the previous administration for your problems? Six months, 10 months, a year?
6. Do you think that calling those that oppose your version of healthcare liars, un-American or the fringe of America politics helps bring us together?
7. Prior to last night's speech you and everybody supporting healthcare reform have used the number 47 million uninsured Americans. Last night you stated that your plan would cover all 30 million uninsured Americans. Have you started using the lower number because you know the American people will not support healthcare for illegal immigrants? Isn't this nothing more than the 'Politics as Usual" attitude you were elected to end?
8. Your promise in last year's Presidential election was "I will sign comprehensive healthcare reform by the end of my first term". If healthcare reform is so important why must it be passed by the end of your first year? Wouldn't a reform bill that a majority on both sides supports be better for the country?
9. Why isn't Tort reform included in the healthcare reform? Doctors will tell you one of the big reasons healthcare is so expensive is because their insurance premiums are outrageous. Frivolous lawsuits brought by trial lawyers. Are you really that afraid of the Trial Lawyers Lobby? Howard Dean seems to think you are.
10. True leaders take up the challenge under difficult circumstances. Wouldn't you show Presidential leadership by starting this whole process over and engaging Republicans, Democrats and Independents in a true discussion of what we can do to improve our system? Doesn't it make common sense to build on the healthcare system we have rather than completely starting over?
