Mark Wheatley is the original founder of America Fighting Back. The website was created in August 2008 in an attempt to being our country back on track. I voted against President Obama but prayed that he would move to the center, as promised, and lead us out of this mess. It became painfully obvious that the President wasn't going to lead from the center, so here we are and we're not going away.
I was in the U. S. Marine Corps for seventeen active duty years and seven years in the reserves. My wife, Barb, and I have spent the last ten years working hard to help our three children get through college. Two have graduated and the last one is two years away. My wife and I have been married for twenty-seven great years.
My life experiences and my love of history are the driving forces behind America Fighting Back website and radio at http://www.wsradio.com/internet-talk-radio.cfm/shows/America-Fighting-Back.html. I have watched for many years as retired Generals, Colonels and other officers gave us their outlook on America's problems. I felt it was time that for a different perspective. Ask anybody that has ever served in the military and they will tell you that if you want to know what's right or wrong about a unit ask the Company Gy or the First Sergeant.
That's why I'm here and that's why there is an America Fighting Back:
America Fighting Back is nothing more than a handful of people getting together trying to alter the course of the dialogue. Normal men and women who still believe in the common citizen making a difference. Together we will work together with the sole purpose of keeping this country great.
We have been told that we can't change the politics of this country - the politicians are too entrenched
We have been told that we can't stop the flow of American companies using overseas labor for customer service
We have been told that we can't reverse the flood of overseas products coming in to the United States
We have been told that nothing can be done about our open borders
We have been told that nothing can be done about our need for overseas oil
We have been told that the Dollar is worthless
We have been told that we can't win the War on Terror
We have been told that we can't get out debt (individually or as a country)
WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT WE CAN'T DO THE THINGS WE'RE TALKING ABOUT. THEY'RE RIGHT!!!!! WE CAN'T DO THIS ALONE. TOGETHER WE HELPED WIN TWO WORLD WARS, WE SURVIVED A DEPRESSION, CREATED THE LARGEST ECONOMY THE WORLD HAS EVER KNOWN, FOUGHT BACK COMMUNISM, FREED MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WORLDWIDE.
TOGETHER WE WILL TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK. BACK TO A POINT THAT WE CAN DISAGREE BUT NOT HATE EACH OTHER . BACK TO A POINT WHERE WE CAN DEBATE ALL WEEK LONG BUT ON FRIDAY WE CAN SIT DOWN TOGETHER AND FORGET OUR POLITICS. COMMON SENSE MUST PREVAIL.
THERE ARE SOME THINGS IN LIFE WORTH FIGHTING FOR. THIS COUNTRY AND OUR WAY OF LIFE IS ONE OF THEM. THE FIGHT ISN'T ALWAYS ON A BATTLEFIELD, SOMETIMES IT IS HERE AT HOME. THE EXTREMES FROM BOTH SIDES MUST BE CLEAR THAT WE WON'T SIT IDLY BY AND ALLOW OUR COUNTRY TO BE DESTROYED.

WHY AMERICA FIGHTING BACK
We must begin the process of Taking Back our country. For too long the extremes of both parities have told us what we are for and what we are not for. The Battle for America began a long time ago but many of us have kept silent because we didn't think we could make a difference. It is time that those of us who are tired of being told how we feel stand up and say NO MORE. It does not matter what party you are from, your color, your religion, your social background, rich, poor or middle class. We are all tired of being told that our vote counts and then watching as judges, politicians and religious leaders turn a deaf ear to what we voted for or say. It is time that we hold our own Boston Tea party. The last time it happened this country changed forever. This time we are going to throw the politicians who don't listen to us overboard instead of tea. It can and will have the same impact on History. Only 14% of us (all time low) think Congress is doing a good job. The President has his lowest approval ratings ever. Unfortunately we'll send back 99% of those same politicians. We will come together and change this country. It will take five, six, seven years or more. We will not agree on everything. America Fighting Back will be our platform for spirited debate. Once the debate is over we will not vilify each other but accept the outcome. If the result is not what you wanted you will run for office yourself or ensure that the facts pertaining to your argument are clear. In the recently released movie "Marshall", Matthew McConaughey plays a coach that takes over the Marshall football program after all but three players and one coach are killed in a tragic accident. McConaughey's character (Coach Leyngel) rebuilds the program the next year with Freshmen, walk-ons and players from other sports at Marshall. They lose their first game after the accident by a very big margin. In one scene, McConaughey is telling the lone surviving coach, Red Dawson, that everywhere he has been and to every coach in the history of sports , it has always been about winning. Coach Leyngel tells Coach Dawson that right now it's not about winning, it's about taking the field, surviving. Someday it will be about winning again but not right now. It took over ten years before Marshall had a winning season again. Following that first winning season they won 8 division titles, 5 bowl games and 2 National Championships. Why this analogy? Right now in this time and place we must stop worrying about who wins and who loses. Which party is in charge. We must focus on the quality of those we vote for. We must demand that the leadership in both parties stop bickering and get busy. The leaders of both parties must stop blocking votes. Let the votes go forward. Our Representatives will decide. The extremists from both sides must be defeated.
